Simultaneously serving the needs of Parents, Day Care Providers and Government Agencies since 2001.
OnPath has developed and implemented hundreds of custom database systems. Within the last few years, we expanded our services to include building centralized child day care waiting list registry systems for clients like the City of Ottawa, City of Sudbury and Province of Manitoba.
"Manitoba families and child-care providers have proved the value of this innovative tool that helps parents easily find convenient licensed early learning and child care," said Mackintosh. "And now we have a new planning tool to help parents and further improve and refine our child-care growth strategy.“ Manitoba Consumer Affairs Minister Gord Mackintosh
OnPath's centralized child day care waiting list registry system streamlines the paper application process. The system makes it easier for parents to register and manage potential long wait times. Day cares benefit by having automatic updates with the status of children when they are registered or placed, even if placed with another day care. The municipality, state or province benefits by having more accurate reporting on wait times and child placements. This helps them allocate the right budget and resources to solve wait time problems.
The inception of our first Centralized Child Day Care Waiting List Registry System began as a pilot project in 2001 for a francophone child care community in Ottawa. Initially, a total of 33 French child care services were involved. In 2006, the service expanded to include all English and bilingual services. This represented an increase of 211 child care services. By 2010, the database was populated by more than 350 licensed child care services which included 250 child care centers, 87 nursery schools and 16 home child care agencies. An overall number of more than 30,900 families and 44,900 children with active and inactive child care requests were in the system.
Our centralized child day care waiting list registry system, allows parents to have many ways of registering their child. They have the option of completing a paper form; an electronic copy; and an online application. The online application can be offered in multiple languages such as French, English and Spanish.
